In this class I’ve gone through many ups and downs throughout the semester. From struggling to manage my time, and struggling to stay consistent with the discussion board, to getting better at articulating my thoughts and feelings into writing and learning how to decode someone else’s writing to better mine. Throughout the semester some of the goals were to explore the various writing genres, sharpening strategies for drafting, revising, editing, and close reading. Also locating and sharpening style and clarity in my writing, being able to support a well reasoned argument and persuade, take part in discussions, use research to incorporate into writing, raise social awareness by picking meaningful topics, and practice citation. With all these learning goals throughout the semester not every goal is going to be met. There are ones I wish I would’ve spent more time on. For example, I wish I would’ve spent more time on the discussion because I feel like I could’ve gotten a lot of knowledge from my peers’ input. But I also had successful learning goals. For example, I got better at using meaningful topics and bringing social awareness to topics I’ve mentioned in my writing. But I do feel like I lacked in adding details, for example going into something and explaining it the best I can.
